About Exeter Hotel

The 4 star Exeter Hotel opened in August 2018 in a complex of new and rebuilt buildings that were designed as a hotel from the start. The hotel draws its name from the Exeter house which was originally built in 1904 and has now been rebuilt with an additional floor as a part of the hotel complex.

The Exeter Hotel has an industrial look and feel with open spaces, sharp colors and mixtures of textures that blend well with modern facilities right by Reykjavik’s Old Harbor which is still bustling with activity.

Architects Richard Blurton and Sigurður Halldórsson from Gláma-Kím Architects designed the hotel and the artwork is by Hrafnkell Sigurðsson.

Lively Environment

The Exeter Hotel opens with 106 rooms, from two bed to suites such as the top floor suite which has a balcony overlooking Mt. Esja and the Old Harbor, and totals no less than 52 m2 including the balcony. Of course, there are also facilities such as a sauna and a gym as well as the Deig bakery, the Le Kock street food restaurant and the Tail bar that offers bottoms up draft beer system. The Exeter Hotel is built around a courtyard where guests can relax, mingle or plan their trips for the day.
